The Smokin Cole’s BBQ Competition Team

The Smokin Cole’s Team began competing in barbecue competitions in 2021.

Since we started competing, we’ve made multiple top 10 placements in KCBS, IBCA & Backyard BBQ competitions. Our success in BBQ Competitions even landed us on the Food Network!

And our youngest team member has been along for the ride since the beginning! He’s going to be our Head Cook soon!

Cedar Fest BBQ Cook-Off 2022

Smokin Cole’s is returning to Cedar Fest BBQ Cook-Off to take on the competition and put our barbecue skills to the test. Last year, the Smokin Cole’s team placed 22nd overall, with a 6th place finish in Ribs & an 8 place finish in Cook’s Choice. This year, the stakes are much higher as Smokin Cole’s will participating in a Food Network series hosted by Chef Michael Symon, which will follow multiple BBQ teams. During Cedar Fest, Chef Symon and the Food Network crew, will follow our journey throughout the two day competition and festival.

Cedar Fest is hosted by the Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce and this year will be presented by HEB. The Cedar Fest BBQ Cook-Off is a BBQ competition and festival featuring 50+ BBQ teams, competing in the following food categories: Brisket, Chicken, Pork, and Pork Ribs. Smokin Cole’s will be putting their sauces to the test in the 2021 Sauces of Honor Competition hosted by Barbecue News Magazine. Smokin Cole’s two signature sauces and a new sauce recipe, Old Yella Sauce, will be competing in the chicken, beef, and pork categories. The Results of the competition will be published in the June 2021 edition of Barbecue News Magazine.

Barbecue News originally started in 1990 as a printed newsletter to let avid barbecuers keep track of upcoming events and results from past events. Today, they share information about all things barbecue and grilling via their website, printed magazine, digital magazine, and social media.

On April 23rd and April 24th, Smokin Cole’s will partner with Legacy Cafe & Catering for the City of Davenport Grills Gone Wild. Legacy Cafe & Catering develops creole inspired cuisine dishes that have been passed down from generations. For this two day event, Legacy Cafe & Catering will be waking up the tastebuds of the Davenport community with Chargrilled Oysters, Red Beans & Rice, Seafood Nachos, Jazzy Wings and Grilled Chicken featuring Smokin Cole’s two signature sauces. Legacy also plans to introduce New Orleans styled snowballs and NOLA Ice in their food concession trailer.

The joint collaboration of Legacy’s cuisine and Smokin Cole’s sauces will be available for purchase. Stop by the tent with the purple fleur-de-lis to say hello, satisfy your hunger, wake up your taste buds and quench your thirst!
